The Art Handlxrs* is a group dedicated to the support and growth of BIPOC, queer, trans*, non-binary, and women in the professional arts industry as preparators, art handlxrs, technicians, fabricators, and other industry support roles. Art Handlxrs* offers basic skill sets and technique workshops, expands access and visibility through community building and published manuals, and partners with local institutions to advocate for a safer, equitable, and more welcoming work environment for everybody.

Betti Ono’s vision and creative practice embody the bold, curious, and unapologetic spirit of our namesakes: Betti Mabry Davis and Yoko Ono. Betti Ono values art-making as a function of activism, community transformation, and cultural resilience. Since 2014, The East Oakland Black Cultural Zone Collaborative has worked with a coalition of residents, government agencies, churches, and grassroots organizing groups to help keep Black folks in East Oakland. CounterPulse is building a movement of risk-taking art that shatters assumptions and builds community. CounterPulse provides space and resources for emerging artists and cultural innovators, serving as an incubator for the creation of socially relevant, community-based art and culture. CounterPulse acts as a catalyst for art and action; creating a forum for the open exchange of art and ideas, sparking transformation in our communities and our society. CounterPulse works towards a world that celebrates diversity of race, class, cultural heritage, artistic expression, ability, gender identity, and sexual orientation. CounterPulse strives to create an environment that is physically and economically accessible to everyone.

The SF Urban Film Fest gathers a diverse, engaged audience and uses the power of storytelling to spark discussion and civic engagement around urban issues. We ask what it means to live together and create just and equitable cities. SFUFF is an interdisciplinary storytelling organization that produces an annual film festival, year-round film-based discussion events, and long-term community storytelling projects to make our cities more healthy, inclusive, and culturally abundant. The 7th annual SF Urban Film Fest runs from February 14 to 21, 2021.
